Just coming off of the heels of our "Christmas In The Capital" Event last week, we are still hearing about all of the wonderful things God continues to do. Members of Congress, staffers and locals were so blessed by the music and all of the folks who came from around the country to share the Love of Jesus with them. Our guests were also blessed to experience just a taste of what God is doing here in Washington! We look forward to the new year with great anticipation for what God will do in the lives of those who are in places of authority!
We have begun a host of new outreach ministry events this year in Washington. With our newest addition George and Linda Roller, we have been able to expend our reach into the 116th Congress. One of our newest events is called "Coffee With Congress", which will give staffers the opportunity to listen to a Christian member of Congress share about their faith. This is a powerful tool for these young staffers not just to hear a member of Congress speak, but to hear the good news of Jesus Christ. This event is not inexpensive in the least to put on monthly. A lot of folks ask about specific needs that we have and here is one of them. We also have no-weekly Bible studies for staff with a free lunch provided. Would you consider giving towards this?
Just a few months ago, perhaps the most historic election in U.S. history took place. For many, especially those of us who are completely committed to the word of God, and the God of the word, this was a definite and dramatic answer to our prayers! In fact, what occurred has been described as "miraculous," and indeed it was!
The question now is, "Where do we go from here?" From a political standpoint, we pray for our new President-elect, that he will select a cabinet and advisers who fear God and are committed to upholding the U.S. Constitution and that he will govern in the fear of God.
From a ministry viewpoint, what happened on Election Day is precisely that for which I have EARNESTLY prayed. We recently opened office space on Capital Hill in anticipation that we'd have a faith-friendly incoming Chief Executive. That specific prayer has been graciously answered! Now, we are preparing for the most aggressive ministry we've ever conducted in Washington, DC.
God has graciously provided the necessary funds to cover the cost for the actual office space. What is needed NOW are the requisite resources for our team to be the boots on the ground in Washington DC.
As you may know, living in the DC area is incredibly expensive. Rent on a meager apartment outside the city can cost as much as $2500.00 a month. Understanding what is needed to fulfill a successful outreach on the Hill, we are now attempting to raise $4500.00 a month. To expeditiously meet that need, I am asking for your prayerful consideration with respect to this need.
Most of you have known me and my family for decades. You have seen the growing passion for our nation and it's Capital that has exponentially increased in my heart. That passion is now equally present in my son Nathan. Because DC is a young person's world, he is the perfect fit to serve as Director of our HOPE To The Hill ministry. As well, he has learned WELL the necessary skill set to minister effectively there. In fact, he can procure meetings with legislators when others cannot. God has granted favor.
Again, I ask for your serious consideration in helping us with this critically important ministry endeavor. Both Nathan and I will be your missionaries on the Hill.
To contribute monthly, you may send your support to: HOPE Ministries International/HOPE To The Hill
You can also give a one time amount below if you feel so led.
Thank you in advance for your financial partnership with us, and most of all for your ongoing prayers!
